ROV Training Facilities

Oceaneering opened the world's first Work-Class ROV Training Center in 1996. With over 7,500 square feet of classroom, laboratory, and administrative space, the facility is more than capable of meeting the demands of training field ROV personnel worldwide to be the finest pilots, technicians, and supervisors in the ROV industry.

Oceaneering provides courses in all areas of the ROV business including technical, operational, and supervisory curriculum. Four full-time instructors and over twenty guest instructors are involved in shaping and refining the skills of Oceaneering personnel, especially with regard to field requirements and customer relations.

Some of the most essential tools in the program are Oceaneering's ROV Simulators. ROV Simulators located in Morgan City, Louisiana, Stavanger, Norway and Aberdeen, Scotland make up the backbone of Oceaneering's pilot training. Beyond the obvious training benefits, the simulators provide the ability to simulate customer-defined virtual subsea worlds in varying environmental conditions and difficulty levels. These simulators have proven invaluable to both Oceaneering and our clients. ROV pilots are able to practice real work requirements prior to going offshore. Typical subsea missions include the installation or usage of BOP, Subsea Trees, Flowlines, Templates, Jumpers and ROV tooling.

Other than Oceaneering's four ROV Simulator locations, training facilities include multimedia-equipped classrooms, an electronics laboratory, a hydraulics laboratory, and a fully functional ROV with a complete control suite.
