"Close Coupled" Acoustic ROV Intervention Systems

Oceaneering Intervention Engineering pioneered development of the ROV "close coupled" acoustic telemetry system (patent pending) that utilizes broad band spread spectrum telemetry.

The ROV is equipped with a sending modem which interfaces to the vehicle electronic module and in turn the ROV umbilical. This allows independent communications from the ROV to the BOP stack, production tree, or pipeline control module.
