Lecture Overheads

Prof. Robert B. Laughlin
Department of Physics
Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305

These are copies of the foils for Prof. Laughlin's Lecture for his 1998 Nobel Prize in Physics, delivered at Aula Magna of Stockholm University on 8 Dec 98. There was no computer projection in those days, so the visual aids were drawn by hand with colored pens on sheets of plastic. In keeping with his usual last-minute preparation practices, Prof. Laughlin was scribbling out foils during co-winner Dan Tsui's talk, which occurred just before. This explains the occasional hasty alignment. Click on thumbnail to obtain original high-resolution scan.
