I graduated from Daejeon Science High School, and so don't find KAIST all that special. In fact, KAIST seemed so accessible and familiar to me that I never seriously thought about applying. But after I thought about my career path more seriously, I chose KAIST, even though I was accepted to medical school, because I thought that engineering better suited my interests.

Unfortunately, I then discovered that KAIST had problems much worse than anything I had encountered in high school. I became a KAIST Times reporter to fight them. Criticizing wrongdoings is very fascinating to me. I was interested in many things when I was younger, but now not so many. For example, in high school I had a serious book collecting hobby. I still have this hobby, but there is a widening gap between intentions and follow-through. I now read less than 50% of the book I buy, whereas I used to read more than 90%. I wish I had the time to read all of them.
