The Other Side of Globalization

Several days ago, APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit was held in Pusan. Leaders of APEC countries came togetether to work on important economic problems. It was a significant accomplishment to have Korea serve as the host country of this conference, and it gives us us confidence that Korea can be a centrally important country in the Asia-Pacific area.

Minimum Wage Reform

Legally, minors may perform the same labor as adults. As of last September, when the law was revised, everyone must get paid the same minimum wage - KRW 3,100 per hour - regardless of age. This is good news for young people, who increasingly want part-time jobs.

Letters to the Times

Participate Actively in Leadership

Hi, I'm Sun-mi Park (Electrical Engineering, entrance year 2004). I don't think the title "leader" is appropriate for a sophomore, especially since I'm too immature to do self-management. Nonetheless I just completed KAIST leadership program - indeed earlier than other students. The enthusiasm for this program still is in my heart, so I am writing this letter to let other students know what I learned in the program.

Improve Restaurant Quality

If you are KAIST students, you definitely have heard this story: "Do you go to KAIST? You must be a genius." Although I used to think that KAIST students were unique and talented compared to other Universities students, I have changed my mind. I no think that KAIST is actually just a small version of conventional student society.
