The Ateneo HPAIR Union’s Policy and Initiative Workshop concludes the calendar of the organization’s roster of official activities. It intends to evaluate the impact of the Lecture Series, the National Conference, and the rest of the projects that the organization would have rendered throughout the entire year. Beyond that, it will attempt to concretely open pathways to social change, as unveiled by the discussions of the organization until then. The knowledge, insights and realizations gained from those discussions will be crystallized in social action, in the form of policy proposals or pilot initiatives, that will be pledged for implementation in the following school year.
To ensure the viability, efficacy and relevance of the policy proposals and pilot initiatives that will ensue from the Workshop, several measures such as mentorships by professionals working in the Policy/Civil Society sector, peer reviews and advice by participants, and case studies of similar initiatives enforced in the past, will be implemented in the unfolding of the Workshops events. In the closing of the workshop, participants (whether in groups or individual) will be requested to present a comprehensive blueprint of their policy proposals or pilot initiatives, that they will carry through the next year.
The Policy and Initiative Workshop of the Ateneo HPAIR Union will be done in concert with the newly-formed COA Issue and Policy Analysis Cluster. Members of HPAIR, key representatives of the cluster will be required to attend, though students who have attended activities of the Ateneo HPAIR Union throughout the year will be invited to participate.
