The HPAIR 2007 Academic Conference marks HPAIR’s 16th year as a local union and global network. The conference will take place from August 17 to 20, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt Beijing and venues throughout Beijing. HPAIR 2007 will continue a long tradition of excellence by bringing together 500 undergraduate and graduate students from throughout the world and encouraging their dialogue with business, academic, and political leaders, on relevant issues of the Asia-Pacific region.
This year, six Ateneo HPAIR delegates have been selected to attend the 14th International Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) Conference after undertaking a stringent screening process conducted by Harvard University, Massachusetts. Numerous times throughout the past HPAIR International Conferences, Filipino citizens have won the best delegate award.
In the past, student delegates represented more than 200 universities from over 30 countries. The HPAIR 2006 guest speaker included His Excellency President SR Nathan of Singapore and His Excellency George Yeo, Foreign Minister of Singapore. This year, His Excellency Ong Keng-Yong, Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the event.
